General Skin Care Tips
Skin is the largest organ of the humans that protect the internal organs from damage. Maintaining a good skin is necessary to maintain a good overall health. Here are some of the tips for maintaining a good skin.
During the summer season, drink at least 10 glasses of water. Wash your face with mineralized water instead of tap water for at least three times a day. Use mild soaps and butter for refreshing your face. Prefer soaps that contain herbal ingredients because the commercial soaps are used to strip off the oil from the skin. If you have any heat balls or pimple scars, wash your face with tomato pulp daily at bed time.
If you have dry and itchy skin, try the following. Apply a mixture of safflower oil, avocado oil and sesame oil and massage it gently on the dry areas regularly. Use moisturizing lotions throughout your body after you take bath. For itchy skin, apply skim milk whenever you feel itchy. If you have fungal infections on your skin, the best remedy is to use tea tree oil. Apply this oil on the affected areas and massage gently.
For rashes, mix corn starch to your tub and take bath daily. If you have any pores which resembles like holes in your face, then use stone-ground corn meal, make it like a paste and massage your face with this mix daily in the morning.
Acne is one of the common problems faced by the teenagers. Acne is a condition, where the skin becomes clogged by sebum. The sebum is the natural oil that usually lubricates the skin and hair. This is an overreaction by the hormones, triggering the sebaceous glands to produce more sebum. This occurs in the T-zone of the face, where there is more chance of getting pimples. For treating acne, wash your face twice or thrice daily with mild soaps. If you get acne on your body, try to wear loose cloths. Avoid any make-ups and often use cleansers to avoid the dust from settling in your face.
Eczema is another skin disorder in which the skin becomes red itchy and dry. Don’t use any harsh detergents because they may cause irritation of your skin. Use natural moisturizing agents often to the affected areas. Eczema can cause flaring feelings, so, consult a dermatologist as soon as possible.
For maintaining a beautiful looking skin by diet, follow some of the tips given below. Drink water mixed with honey daily in the morning to get a shiny skin. Consume orange and yellowish coloured vegetables. Avoid fast foods and animal fats. Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption. Always eat a well balanced diet with foods that are rich in skin nutrients such as vitamin A, B, C, and K and zinc.
